Tell us about your business:
Our Back Story... We have purchased and sold our own properties over the last 6 or so years. Our last property sale was fine but it was the purchasing of a new property that gave us a headache. We decided to move home to QLD from WA, and thanks to our financial institution giving us some incorrect information on holding our mortgage open - we found we needed to fly to the Sunshine Coast in order to purchase a new home if we were to keep our mortgage opposed to going through the entire lending process all over again!
We flew to the Sunshine Coast, we called agents who had listings on the internet and told them our situation: our budget, and that we needed to sign a contract either today or tomorrow to settle in two weeks. We wouldn't have thought it was a big ask but apparently we found agents that thought it better to have their hair done, go for a surf or do anything else but show us some homes.
We honestly couldn't believe the poor customer service offered. There we were hot property buyers and real estate agents too busy or couldn't be bothered to show us some homes that suited our needs.
Funnily enough, we've had agents contact us 2, 4 and 6 months later seeing if we were still in the market which was a very clear indication that they didn't actually LISTEN! We had already decided that we would enter the real estate industry before this experience cemented that we could really stand apart and provide people with an experience that would blow their minds! We have now launched our real estate agency and it is so exciting and we have no competition when it comes to offering quality customer service.

What's your greatest business achievement?
Growing my previous business starting from scratch to a business that turned over six figures! Also, being nominated by one of my peers in my first year of business for the 2009 Telstra Business Woman of the Year Awards.
What are your top 3 networking tips?
- Be consistent.
- Be authentic.
- Choose up to 2 core groups you will attend regularly and then don't miss even one event (unless it's totally unavoidable of course)!.
What's been your most successful marketing or career progression strategy?
Utilising all avenues available to us to get the word out there of our new business venture. Using social media, video, and online avenues prior to our official launch saw many businesses and prospects make contact with us before we had launched opening up opportunities for us.
What can't you live without?
Life itself, it's the complete package of family, friends and business. I often think where I would be without them all.
What value have you gained from being a WNA Member?
The women within the network have proved to be not only a support but an inspiration to me. I always love hearing about why women start their businesses and their journey as I find it amazing of any person to go out and risk it all to launch their own venture. Lynette and the WNA team are also just wonderful and helpful as well as inspirational. The events are so well run and well worth it. I can't recommend membership with WNA enough - one of the best business investments I've made.
