Women own almost half of all home-based businesses and one-third of businesses operating from other locations.

Women setting up business from home is the fastest growing sector of the Australian economy.

Women make or influence 80% of all purchasing decisions.

94% of all Australian businesses have an annual turnover of less than $2 million.

Women owned businesses have less external debt, are more profitable and profitable much earlier than those owned by men.

Jane Toohey Featured Member - Women's Network AustraliaTell us about your current position or business:

I provide marketing and business development assistance to growing businesses. I work with entrepreneurs to workshop their strategy for success and develop a plan to make that happen.

Find out more about my business.

What's been your most outstanding career achievement?

Being appointed as non-executive director, the first woman on the board of Mini Movers.

What are your top 3 networking tips?

l Smile.
l Be clear about what it is you offer and say it in one or two sentences.
l Be enthusiastic!

What's been your most successful marketing strategy?

Networking has to be the most successful way to make it up the ranks. You have to build your profile. Writing articles, blogging and being published in any form makes a difference.

What can't you live without?

Hot yoga, it's the best for toning your body but also calming your mind. I have never been able to meditate but this comes close - active meditation.

What value and benefit have you or your business gained by being a WNA Member?

I have been a Member for at least five years now. It is the most valuable membership I have, above AICD, AIM, WOB's. Mainly because of the rich content. WNA's commitment to sending us relevant information, on time every week, with opportunities galore - is inspiring.

Member 2 Member Offer

I would like to offer all current WNA Members a business health check for free. This is a 1 to 2 hour workshop.
