Anything That Costs Your Health Is Too Expensive (part 2)

Health & Wellbeing
When you are young, your endocrine glands are robust enough to cope with the stress you put on your body, but as you go into your 30’s, they start to break down and your hormones start to go wacky.

Following on from my last blog, Anything That Costs Your Health Is Too Expensive (part 1)   Read further about your endocrine system and function.

If you are in your 40’s and 50’s, you need to make sure your hormones are working properly for you, rather than against you.

The most important endocrine function is something called the HPA system, referring to the Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Adrenal Axis, a negative feedback system that helps to modulate your stress. However, many women experience the break down of this system due to years of compounding stress, which leads to metabolic syndrome, obesity, hypo or hyperthyroidism, breast or ovarian cancer, fatty liver, adrenal fatigue, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and osteoporosis, just to name a few.

Your body is a miraculous system. You are made of 80 trillion cells that work synergistically to provide a self-regulating, self-healing, and self-regenerating system. Your cells have an inbuilt automatic program that innately knows how to terminate and renew itself. Your DNA has the most intuitive intelligence as long as you don’t abuse it.

Unfortunately, modern life abuses the hell out of our cells. Is there any wonder why modern men and women are haunted by cancer, tumors, heart disease, diabetes, and all kinds of chronic diseases?

If you are experiencing physical discomforts and emotional struggles, please do not ignore these signs. They are there to warn you, to remind you to stop doing whatever you are doing, to slow down, to turn back if you are off your target. I am sure you agree that running faster does not help you if you are heading in the wrong direction. Please listen to your wise body, give your body the dignity it deserves, and take some time out to reflect and refocus.

That was what I did 12 years ago. When I took time out to reflect, I realized I was deeply entrenched in an artificially induced stress roller coaster that made me stuck in a place of degeneration. Externally, I was building an empire, but internally, I was breaking down and losing my health.

One day my son asked me, “Mummy, will you still be here when I grow up?” I cried myself to sleep that night, and I swore to God that I would be there when he grew up and that I must make the commitment to change, so I did.

Today, my son is 23, my daughter is 17, and I am healthier than I have ever felt, healthier than when I was young. I dedicate this age reversal secret to the fact that I am now wiser than ever before. I used to treat myself like a machine, going from one project to another. Now, I treat myself with love, honor, and respect. I see my body as a temple of my soul, and I look after this temple with grace and gratitude.

Even though I am no longer in private practice, I am more than happy to offer guidance to WNA members. If you need help, please reach out to me on  hongcurley@gmail.com .  Please visit my website for more guidance on a new era of optimum health.
