Executive Round Table Luncheon – Exclusive

Bernadette Eriksen

Being Brave and Passionate about making a difference to people's lives

Women’s Network Australia’s Executive Round Table Luncheon is a forum for open discussion on the latest business, management, leadership and entrepreneurial issues. It’s an opportunity to make new connections, network with each other and share strategies, engage opinions, and canvas comments on issues relating to industry sectors. It also affords the chance to reconnect with those you may have lost track of and tap into expertise and updates from the Table Topic of the day.

At each of the luncheons we place a spotlight on one of Brisbane’s senior business leaders and introduce you to their business and expertise in the marketplace and as they lead the Table Topic of the Day.  Please note that this is capped at 20 attendees.

About Bernadette Eriksen,
Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Flavour Creations

Bernadette Eriksen took an unorthodox route into the food industry. After considering studies in food technology, she instead chose accountancy, arming herself with the knowledge to run a business. Now, Bernadette is the CEO of Flavour Creations, a company that provides essential nutrition services to some of Australia’s most vulnerable people, primarily those living with dysphagia.

At the 2017 Telstra Queensland Business Women’s Awards, Bernadette won the Telstra Queensland Business Woman of the Year Award and Entrepreneur Award. She was also named the Greater Brisbane Woman in Business of the Year Award 2017. In addition, Flavour Creations won the Queensland Urban Utilities Award for Product Innovation for its Dysphagia Cup at the 2017 Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Business Awards.

The Vinnies CEO Sleepout

Don’t take your safe, warm bed for granted because tonight, over 116,000 homeless Australians may not be sharing the same luxury. Australia’s rates of homelessness have risen by 4.6 per cent over the last five years and the number of homeless women has doubled since 2013.

“Vinnies Sleep Out also tells other women in the community, be they homeless or in a violent or abusive domestic situation they are thinking of leaving, that there are a lot of us out there willing to go the extra mile to support them.” Says Bernadette.

Bernadette is participating in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout on 21 June. This year, Vinnies CEO Sleepout aims to raise $6.42 million nationwide for Vinnies’ services for people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage. Bernadette will share her reasons for braving a cold night of sleeping rough.

Flavour Creations initially set a fundraising target of $5000 and we have already reached that by doing a lot of initiatives in the company and community. Many of our suppliers have made a donation and written back to me personally giving me their encouragement.

“I hope my business success shows other aspiring female entrepreneurs that we all have the ability and responsibility to create the kind of world we want to live in.” Bernadette Eriksen, Telstra Women’s Business Awards, October 2017.
