Maree Adshead - Champion of Small Business Queensland and Founding CEO of the Open Data Institute Queensland

Recently appointed by the State Government as Queensland's Small Business Champion, Maree Adshead's role entails meeting with and listening to the views of small business and ensuring they are heard by Government.

Her appointment to the role is designed to strengthen connections across government and with key stakeholders for greater collaboration, knowledge sharing and delivery of programs.

Maree will play a vital role in voicing the needs of small businesses to ensure they have the best chance to start, grow and employ. Passionate about the success of small business in Qld, Maree is driven to ensure that the interests of small business are a focal point of future policy and program design.

About Maree Adshead:

Maree’s career began in the legal profession, as partner of a tier one national law firm. Ten years later, she co-founded a successful software start-up which received multiple awards for excellence in innovation. In 2012, Maree received the prestigious Women in Technology ICT Outstanding Achievement Award which recognises the achievements of outstanding women within Queensland’s ICT industries and was the 2015 Patron of TechGirls are Superheroes. Maree has held industry roles including establishing and chairing the Technology Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (CCIQ) and chair of the Queensland branch of the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA).

On Arrival: Pre-luncheon drink followed by cash bar.

Main: Garlic and thyme marinated chicken maryland, carrot and parsnip puree, sugar snap peas and pan juices.

Alternative Main (Vegetarian): Cherry tomato, fresh pea and parsley linguini, fresh basil and shredded parmesan.

 Baked berry cheesecake with chantilly cream and mixed berry compote.

Note: Dessert will be served with freshly made tea and coffee.
