Success and Inner Peace: The Eighth Secret: Treat Yourself As If You Already Are What You’d Like to Be
Why put off feeling successful, or happy, or wealthy, or lucky, or healthy? Feel it TODAY!
Too often, we say that “when ……… happens, then I’ll feel successful / happy / wealthy / lucky / healthy.” But the key point that we are overlooking in this belief, is that it works the other way around! When we choose to feel successful or happy or whatever we desire, the elements we seek to bring about that feeling will begin to show up.
By now, most of us have heard of the Law of Attraction. That’s how this concept works. It is like operating on a certain vibration, or wavelength. When we are negative, negative ‘things’ show up. Conversely, when we decide to be positive, positive ‘things’ start to appear.
You see, we all have certain beliefs about life, and the role of our sub-conscious is to ensure that life reflects our beliefs to us. So if we have a belief that we can only be ‘happy’ after the occurrence of a designated event, then we are really just preventing ourselves from feeling happy NOW!
Ghandi said “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” So BE the change you wish to see in your own life. If you are waiting to have lots of money to feel wealthy, it won’t work, because you are not on the vibration of wealth. Feel wealthy now, think wealthy now, and visualise yourself as wealthy now…..not in terms of extravagant spending or irresponsible decisions, but in terms of the feeling within. Similarly if your goal is to improve your health in some way; feel healthy now, and visualise yourself with the healthy body you desire. Hold a mental image of the person you want to be, or perhaps have a role model in mind, and think, speak and act as that person, make decisions as that person, for example, to each healthy food, or to put a small sum each week into a ‘wealth’ account.
If your goal is to be successful in business, start doing the things you’d do as a successful business woman. Dress accordingly; speak congruently; attend networking events; connect with mentors. See yourself as the person you’d like to be in a year’s time, or in ten years’ time….. and be that person NOW!
You will be totally surprised at how quickly that ‘imaginary person’ becomes the new you!
