Brisbane | Charity High Tea – Conversations on the Couch

QLD

Conversations on the Couch with Dame Quentin Bryce and Lady Mayoress of Brisbane Nina Schrinner

2021 Charity High Tea – proudly supporting Women’s Legal Service Queensland.

If you enjoyed our much loved Christmas Charity Luncheon, you won’t want to miss this event. Our inaugural Charity High Tea set in the Grand Ballroom, Stamford Plaza Brisbane offers you the perfect opportunity to indulge in another premium Women’s Network Australia experience.

Women’s History Month is celebrated in March 2021, which could not be more relevant for our distinguished special guests.  WNA members and guests will be joined by The Honourable Dame Quentin Bryce AD, CVO and Lady Mayoress of Brisbane Nina Schrinner for conversations on the Couch presented by our talented Master of Ceremonies, Leigh Muirhead.

The Day

You will be met on arrival with a glass of sparkling.  Network with friends, in the networking lounge, with the quiet ambiance of the music around you.  Move through to the Grand Ballroom, and find yourself enthralled and entertained by the exquisite voice of Lisa Lockland-Bell.  Sit back and enjoy the High Tea experience.  While listening to the Conversations on the Couch with our distinguished guest speakers Dame Quentin Bryce and Lady Mayoress Nina Schrinner.

There will be prizes galore in the Charity Raffle (online and at event via Raffletix), great food and fabulous opportunities to meet like minded business women who love to network.  This event like other WNA events, typifies the art of mixing business with pleasure while supporting a great cause.

Also in 2003, she was invested as a Dame of Grace of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem. On 25 March 2014, Prime Minister Tony Abbott announced that Ms Bryce had become a Dame in the Order of Australia.

On 5 September 2008 Quentin Bryce was sworn in as Australia’s twenty-fifth Governor-General, the first woman to take up the office. Her term concluded in March 2014. Fifteen Honorary Doctorates have been conferred on her by universities in Australia.

Across her career she has worked with women, families and young people while extending her influence across broad and diverse spectrums, including the rural, regional, aged, indigenous, migrant, and disability sectors. Ms Bryce remains a pioneer in contemporary Australian society, with more than forty five years of experience in reform, community building and leadership.

Our Charity: Women’s Legal Service Queensland

Women’s Legal Service Queensland provides free legal and social work support to Queensland women. Sadly, 40% of calls to the WLSQ state-wide Domestic Violence Legal Helpline are going unanswered due to resource constraints. And that’s where you can help – all proceeds from today’s raffle go to Women’s Legal Service Queensland to help answer those unanswered calls for help and potentially save a life.

Our Menu:

Stamford Plaza Brisbane Hotel’s Spirit of Queensland High Tea is an elegant, refined and quintessential Queensland indulgence.  Inspired by Queensland and Australian tastes, the High Tea menu incorporates flavours hailing from the red soil outback to coastal beachfronts.  The Essence of Queensland entremet was prepared by the hotel’s Pastry Chefs and presented to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during her most recent visit to Brisbane.
