5 Instagram Tips and Tricks To Accelerate Your Following

Business By Social

Most businesses use Instagram without any real focus or planning. They publish and post without any real thought except that “they need to put something up” and they wonder why no one is taking any notice.

So here are 5 tips and tricks that you should be using on Instagram to speed up your following and create brand awareness:

Post one photo per day.

By posting one image per day, you increase your engagement levels as more people start to see you active in the community. But try not to post too often because engagement actually decreases the more times you post in a given day.

Follow relevant influencers and engage with them.

The quickest way to get influencers to support and promote your brand? Follow them, like and comment on their posts and chances are they’ll take notice and do the same, particularly if the product or service you are offering fits in with their identity. Influencers are human beings and when you connect with them on an emotional level – by genuinely wanting to build a relationship with them and sparking conversations – you set yourself apart as a business who actually cares.

Tag people in on Instagram posts.

When you trawl your Instagram feed and find amusing or relevant posts, why not tag others in? Engaging your community is what Instagram is about. You can even tag people in your own posts, particularly if you are posting a question and want influencers to respond, tagging them is a good way to get their attention.

Put your hashtags in the comments section.

While most people who post images will cram the caption with all their hashtags, best practice is to post a relevant caption and leave the hashtags for the comment section. That way followers see the description only which makes it a lot more pleasing to the eye and doesn’t make your brand seem “desperado” in its marketing.

Share the Instagram post on other social media platforms.

When publishing a photo you have the option to share the image on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Flickr. So make sure that you do so your followers on those platforms can follow you on Instagram too!

So which of these Instagram tips will you put into practice today?
