My Giving Table is a new social enterprise aimed at supporting grass roots philanthropy through parties and events in your home or business.
It is a simple booking and party invite platform that generates funds for charity.
What does it mean to be a My Giving Table Host?
As a host, it is the dinner parties you already enjoy, the kind act of sharing food with your friends, but doing so in a way that you also share your generosity with important charities that provide for those in need in our community. It is about enjoying the company of friends, cooking your favourite meals, setting the table and sharing your hospitality with loved ones, but where your generosity and giving spreads further to strangers in need.

How is this done? My giving table sets up a unique event page for you when you register to become a host. The link to that page becomes your dinner party invite that you share with friends. It contains the information about your event, the date and time and the theme for your party. It also shares information about the charity that your dinner or party is supporting. Your invited friends understand the deeper purpose for your event as soon as they are invited and they feel pleased to be invited and to contribute and proud to be involved.
Each event has a ticket price, that you as the host decide the value, according to what you plan to provide to your guests. The ticket price is collected through the event link and tracked transparently in accordance with the Charity Collections Act and goes to your selected charity. At its most basic, as the host you donate the meal and your guests pay an amount to attend your party and those proceeds go to the charity of your choice.
My Giving Table have our first campaign with the charity Open Haven who support women in our community. A campaign is simply just requesting as many parties over the next 3 months to support Open Haven to help them raise much needed funds for a new “Hub” where women escaping domestic violence can come to learn new skills and find support.
