Everyone Has a Book These Days; Aren’t I Just Following The Crowd?

Educational Services
everyone has a book these days. aren't I just following the crowd?

Publishing a book of your own is still a pretty unique thing.

How many people do you know who have written their own books?

When you do know someone who is an author, do you think ‘I could do that’ or ‘My story should be shared’ or ‘That could benefit my business if I wrote a book’?

Besides, sometimes the reason we follow the crowd is that the crowd has a good idea. What is different is how each crowd member executes that idea.

While there are many millions of books available today because of technology and the ability for ‘anyone’ to publish, how you go about writing and delivering your book may be very different to that of ‘the crowd’.

Is this sufficient evidence to suggest that you will not be ‘following the crowd’?

Perhaps you need to publish your book and share how you did not ‘follow the crowd’ and carved a unique path that had not been followed before?

Storytelling is such an important part of human society that there will always be room for more stories, and more journeys of learning and discovery.

As it has been said, ‘everyone has a story to tell’. Once you’ve told one, you may find that you have much more to share. Imagine the feeling of holding a book and flicking through the pages, knowing you wrote it!

Consider the feeling when you relate to an author while reading their words. Do you find yourself wanting to understand more about them, wanting to do what they did, wanting to achieve the same goals that they have, and being inspired by what they have told you?

What an incredible opportunity for you to be able to do that for others. As an expert in what you do, you can now be the one inspiring and cheering on your audience, encouraging them to achieve their goals, and giving them solutions to their problems.

Unlike our distant ancestors who needed to share stories by mouth, you can write your story once. Thanks to technology (from Guttenberg’s printing press right through to the internet) you can share it to your heart’s content!

So do you still think that you are following the crowd, or are you blazing a new trail for others to follow?

I would love to see your questions and comments in the comments box below.

Your real life examples, comments and questions will allow us to dive deeper into each of the above questions and perhaps provide other readers answers to their questions. It’s a win-win for all.
