The Girls Trip Guide: How To Have Fun In The Sun

In The News

One could argue that a great group of girlfriends could have fun anywhere doing anything. But that doesn’t mean you can’t plan an incredible girls’ trip that you and your friends will enjoy and remember forever. If your last few girl trips have looked the same and are not quite creating the same excitement – here is the guide for you!

Today we are going to look at girls’ trips that are in sun-soaked destinations, and how you best enjoy them.

Book Accommodation Near The Water

If your girl’s trip is going to be all about soaking up the sun, then you will want to be near the water too. There are lots of travel packages you can book too which induce destinations like Whitsundays holidays. There are so many beach destinations that offer a lot for a travelling group of friends, so try and find a hotel that is both central to the water and also to restaurants and other experiences. The last thing you want to be doing is standing in the sun waiting for a taxi to get to your next activity, so ensure your accommodation is at the centre of all your fun.

Plan Some Group Activities
It always feels far too long between drinks when it comes to seeing your best girlfriends, so you want to maximise the group fun when you plan your next trip. Book some fun activities like a surfing class, waterboarding, painting classes and other activities that are sure to make you all laugh and get the most out of the location you are in. It’s generally a good idea to make these activities optional, as you may have a few girlfriends who would prefer to sleep in rather than going on a group beach walk in the morning. Simply put the plans out there and let your peers opt in or out of the things they do not want to do.

Book Some Fabulous Meals Out
As soon as you have booked your accommodation, the next thing you want to do is to look around to see what kind of restaurants, cafes and bars are in the area. Over the course of the girl’s trip, try and include lots of different types of cuisines so you are offering something for everyone. There are some restaurants that are better equipped with taking on large bookings and celebrations so invest the time in researching the outlets in the area so you choose something that will really impress the girls.

Remember, it is not all about dinners! If you are having your girl’s trip in a great sunny destination then you should absolutely lean into the long lunch. Choose a restaurant that is outdoors and with a great view so you can enjoy your meal even more!

Make It Sentimental
Another way to create a really special girl’s trip is to make it a little bit sentimental. Perhaps you can draw on how you all know each other, and plan an evening where everyone has to recall and read out a memory from that time. You might also want to share some of the more challenging things happening in your life right now, as sharing these things with friends can be such a gift and relieve the pressure you may be feeling in your own life. Similarly, you may want to share what your goals are for the year ahead and set some goals and intentions with one another.

Delegate Roles
Now we are not suggesting that you should over-plan your girl’s trip to the point where it is no longer fun… but you do need to plan! Delegating roles is a great way to spread the responsibility of this huge task and it allows everyone to get involved in the details. You may choose to delegate restaurant bookings to one friend, accommodation bookings to another and logistics and transport to someone else. If you have one or two people doing all the work then their girl’s trip might not be as fun and carefree as everyone else’s.

Another idea would be to let people choose what their role is as they are going to gravitate to roles and trip planning they are most interested in. Chances are your most active and outdoorsy friend will have the best ideas and plans for group activities outside! The same goes for your foodie friend picking restaurants.

The better you are at planning a girl’s trip, the more often they will happen. Planning a girl’s trip in a sunny destination is the best way to connect with friends, get outdoors and soak up some of that Vitamin D. Most of us are working inside these days, either in the office or at home, so these destination trips are such a great injection of fun into the calendar. Happy planning.
