Mindshift for your Success : Plan for Action

Business Planning & Strategies
We are coming to the end of 2018. We can choose to let the month of December slip by or start to set some goals to start 2019 on a HIGH note. Do not wait until January to set your goals.

Do it now.  Set time aside in your calendar and prepare for your New Year in December.  A Harvard Business Study found that the 3% of graduates from their MBA who had their goals written down, ended up earning ten times as much as the other 97% put together, just ten years after graduation.

December is also a great time for reflection in your business. It is easy to focus on what hasn’t gone so well throughout the year.  Take some time instead to reflect on what went well, where opportunities presented themselves. What were your wins? Where was there growth and think about these areas as you start planning for 2019.

Instead of focusing on your usual goals bring into play a goal that you really want to achieve – quantum leap thinking.  Something that you really want but have no idea how you are going to achieve it.  But the desire is there.  A stretch goal. Remember the purpose of goals is to grow – personally and professionally.  This can bring enthusiasm, vigor and a sense of aliveness into your business and life.

Preparation is key in setting yourself up for success. Once you have your goals outlined prioritise them. Set your schedule up for the year with your goals and put quarterly reviews in your calendar. This will increase the accountability and keep your business focused.

If you are always planning to plan and nothings happens you have to do something differently. This is one of the key downfalls in many businesses.  A considerable amount of time can be spent setting goals,  developing strategic plans marketing strategies, communication strategies, cultural development , leadership development only for them to stay as plans.  A real knowing doing gap where you have all these great plans but minimal action occurring.  Make sure that you implement your planning and strategies and Be PROACTIVE and take ACTION.

Know what you want and what you are going after. Create your plan of action for 2019
