The world is changing to a more environmentally conscious society that understands the effects we have on the world around us. Part of this movement is people conserving water and thus consuming less of a precious commodity. Even if you don’t think that humans contribute to climate change, you can still save a lot of money by installing low flow devices around the office. Many cities offer rebates and tax incentives to companies that switch their plumbing to low flow devices.

The best ways to reduce the water bill in your office are: actively promoting a water efficient office, installing low flow devices, and researching tax incentives for switching to low flow devices. If you have an office in Sydney,  you can find a plumber in Mosman to install your cost efficient low flow devices.

There is an adage that states the best defense is a good offense. This is particularly true when it comes to conserving water. You should gather your employees together for a quick team meeting and explain the company’s new stance on conserving water. Ask them to be more conscious on their end by doing small things, like turning off the faucet when they wash their hands.

Explain to them how much water is used during various activities. For example, roughly 8 litres of water is used each time you wash your hands without turning off the faucet. Keep in mind that this is only in a 15 second period. You can also place small signs near sinks as a friendly reminder to turn off the faucet if it’s not being used.

Engineers have created low flow devices for all of your plumbing needs. The low flow technology can reduce water usage by 75% for most devices. Now, toilets even come with a high-efficiency device that saves even more water than the low flow toilets. Flushing a standard toilet uses nearly 19 litres of water, while a low-flow device uses only 6 litres.

The high-efficiency toilet tops both devices with an astoundingly low 5 littes of water per flush. The average low flow toilet costs $175, which is no different from the cost to install a standard toilet. However, the low flow device will save you $20 a year on your water bill compared to the standard device.

There are several cities that offer rebates and tax incentives to businesses that switch to energy-efficient utilities. Yes, you read that right. The government wants to pay you for using a device that already lowers your monthly bills.

You could receive hundreds of dollars in rebates for installing specific low flow devices that the government has approved. There are several tax incentives available for companies switching to energy-efficient devices. If you plan and install energy-efficient devices that will receive a rebate and incentive, you could save your company over a thousand dollars, and provide a service to the world.
